Pecan Oil Biscuits

Pecan Oil Biscuits

Light, fluffy, and subtly nutty—these biscuits are perfect with honey, jam, or gravy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup pure pecan oil
  • ¾ cup cold buttermilk (plus extra for brushing tops)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Pour in the pecan oil and stir until crumbly.
  4. Add buttermilk and stir just until the dough comes together—don’t overmix.
  5. Turn dough out onto a floured surface, gently pat to about ¾-inch thick, and cut with a biscuit cutter or glass.
  6. Place on a baking sheet. Brush tops with buttermilk for a golden finish.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
